Patient advocacy is NOT MEDIATION -- but, it often draws upon the skills of a mediator, to bring to the patient the resources that may not otherwise be made available or ascertainable.

By its nature, patient advocacy often involves the dedication of a great amount of time, and therefore, it may be expensive; but it allows the family to care for the patient in way that would not otherwise be practical.
